i'm sure this has been answered already but here goes..

i intend to bid on an item using gixen. i have already entered a maximum bid on ebay at $100's however i am now prepared to go higher using gixen up to $150's.

using Gixen will i actually outbid my self if my item bid is the highest at $100 when the auction is about to close??

No, your maximum bid at ebay will be increased by Gixen, but that will be used by ebay proxy bidding only if there is a need (someone else bidding higher than your original ebay bid). So Gixen will not make you overpay for the item.
