Outbid? my bid was the highest but ebay says some1 else won?

I don't understand what is going on here? The Item sold for 5.00 bucks and that is what my GIXEN bid was but ebay says someone else won for 5.00 bucks??? Please tell me what happened???

You were quite unlucky. This means that the winning bidder's maximum bid was the same as yours, 5.00. Since he submitted his bid first, he won the auction for that amount. Had you bid 5.01, the auction would have been yours.

This is one reason why I never bid a round amount.
