like it warns you if someone already bid higher than the sniping price that you put so you don't need to keep logging into the site or ebay everyday.

Usually your snipe should not be affected by the current bid.
If someone outbid you, you just leave it and search for another item. If you want to increase your snipe after outbiding, that means that your maximum was not really your maximum after all.
You should always put your absolute max when you snipe. |
