|
|
Hi, I have been trying Gixen for some days now and with no success yet
In the last auction I have participated the item was won below my max price, yet I get "OFERTA BAJO PRECIO QUE PIDE". How can this be possible? |

I had to call my wife, Kirsty, in on this one, she being the Spanish speaker in my houshold.
We are agreed that this is probably the common 'Bid increment' misconception (sorry I can't answer in Spanish as I am not fluent, like my wife)... Obviously you speak/write very good English so I gather you'll understand this response.
On eBay if the current bid price is say 10 and your bid is 10.01 then the bid will fail as there is a minumum incremant of 0.50 at this level (the increment value does depend on which currency the auction is in mind you)... so in my example the minimum bid that eBay will accept is 10.50... and the result, if you place a lower snipe value with gixen, is that eBay rejects your bid and potentially you lose to a lower bid than you were prepared to pay.
Another possible alternative is that there was a reserve price on the auction, then even if you are the highest bidder, if the reserve is not met, you still lose, the item is unsold.
If you can provide details of the auction number and the amount that you entered as a snipe with gixen we would be able to do a more in depth analysis of precisely why you lost...
In any case I wish you better luck next time. _________________ Mark |

article is: 320187901016
I placed a max bid of 120 and the item was sold for 118.5. The winning bid does not seem to be a snipe either, as it was placed some time before the auction finished.
Thank you very much for your response. |

The next winning bid for this item is $121.00 ($118.50 + increment $2.50)

Mark (Cupid) is not anonymous , he got his forum account when it was allowed. Now it's disabled because spammers were killing me. |

Aright... I figured...
I remember Mario said that if people really, really wanted a forum id he would consider creating them on a case by case basis. As you are a regular contributer here I would think that Mario might look kndly on such a request from you, if you were to email him. _________________ Mark |

I wanted it originally, but I realized some time ago that it's not a big deal actually for me. I'll survive |
