Recently I had placed a bid of over $300 on an ebay item, but wanted to cancel if the bids from other bidders approached the $200 mark. When I checked on the ebay the items had been bid up to almost $300, if I had not checked that, my bid would have cost me the much higher amount. Why didn't the Gixen page show me the latest bids on my item? I cancelled that auction and a few others

Because updates to the auction prices on the Gixen servers are periodic, not real time... and that's because of the huge amount of resources that would be required to maintain all prices in real time.
It was for this reason that the Gixen Desktop Manager was developed, for Windows based computers. It uses your own resources to update the prices of auctions you have snipes scheduled for. _________________ Mark
