Final bit lower than my bid

I have been using Gixen regularly for over a year without any issues. Today I placed a maximum bid of ?GBP 105.85 for an item. Gixen tells me that the item closed at ?GBP 107.94. Yet if I look at the eBay bid history, it says the item sold for ?GBP 103.09, and my last bid on the history was ?GBP 101.09. (I can provide screenshots, but I don't know how to upload them here).

How is that possible?

I noticed recently that ebay is charging a \"buyer protection fee\"
that means there's a difference on the price that you bid and the price that you pay.
on small differences, it may count towards winning or loosing a bid.
just my oppinion.. better doublecheck..
