Hello all! I'm testing out the service to see how it works and look forward to getting some good deals on some auctions (hopefully lol). I read in the FAQ that Gixen is primarily funded through the optional mirror service subscription, and the only option is through PayPal.
I've had many negative experiences with PayPal in the past and was wondering if the Gixen admin staff have considered other payment processors like Parallel Economy or other similar alternatives to large corporate processors.
I know there are many out there, some better or worse than others, but if my experience is good, I'd love to support you guys, just not through PayPal. Who knows, you might even be able to find an alternative that gives you guys a better cut of the subscriptions while still offering the same merchant protections while giving your subs alternatives to support you guys!
Cheers and I look forward to hearing how my suggestion is received |

I just noticed you guys have Stripe as an option! Definitely going to support you guys now. I'd still recommend looking into others as there are some that may be able to get you lower fees than Stripe while still providing alternatives to PayPal. Cheers! |

I'm sure other processors have been considered.
They not only need to have an interface that allows the automated integration to do the required job, each implementation increases the complexity of the solution and therefore the support costs and therefore the risks of a failure of some kind increase.
In addition extra payment processors increase the accounting costs at the other end.
So the decision as to whether to implement any other processor has to depend on a high degree of certainty that it will be used by a significant number of users. Sadly it's been found in the past that some extensions that take a significant amount of work to implement, and have been consistently requested here, end up not being used very frequently. _________________ Mark |
