Place an opening bid then using Gixen

After manually placing a opening bid can I still use Gixen in the same auction?

Yes you can.

The proviso here though is that Ebay won't accept the same, or a lower, bid than you've already placed from the same Ebay account.

There would be no point in placing the same bid again in any case, but I thought it worth mentioning, for completeness.
