Hello,
I scheduled a bid for the ebay item 230317935976. The auction started by 24.99 Euro, my automatic gixen my bid was 36 Euro, nobody has made a bid, and my sheduled gixen's neither! The status message "Bid under asking price"
Why?
Thanks,

Tronik, the problem was that your maximum bid was over the buy-it-now price, and eBay wouldn't accept it as such.
P.S. Why the message was "BID UNDER ASKING PRICE": after entering the specified maximum bid, Gixen received a page asking for the amount to be corrected. This is usually an indication of bid too low (though in this case it was "bid too high", which is unusual), so Gixen misunderstood the received screen. |

Thank you very much Mario.

I'll offer another suggestion: If you are willing to bid the Buy-It-Now price (or more), then you should consider just clicking the Buy-It-Now and buying in on the spot. Yes, I know, one often wins for less than one's bid by sniping, but when a Buy-It-Now is available at a price you're willing to pay, sniping does not make as much sense. _________________ John

I've saved a lot of money in the past on auction+buy-it-now items by bidding up to the buy-it-now price.
This one is a perfect example, 25EUR to 36EUR is a substantial difference. |

That's just because you don't need this item really bad and accept loosing it when someone bids higher (happens all the time with BIN auctions) or just use BIN. |
