I put in a sipe for listing 168415899763
My user name on ebay is ohhwell0525
I had my max snipe set to $46.
The highest bid that wasn't me was $27.02. Then I sniped in at $28.02. That should have won it BUT then gixen sent another bid in at my max of $46 which I now owe to the seller.
What on earth? It cost me almost $20 more than it should have.

Bids are displayed in the order they are placed not in order of magnitude, so the bid you are outbidding is actually:

Actually, because your bid outbid their maximum by exactly one bid increment, there was no auto bid response from Ebay. That's probably why you missed it.
