re-link my account - takes me to .com not .co.uk

I have been prompted to re-link my account with ebay so I click the link to do so and it takes me to the .com site despite me being in the UK and having the UK set as my default in my settings
What do I need to do?

I am also a UK resident,

Ebay accounts are global, you always re-authorise via ebay.com, it is not affected by your target setting and once authorised it does not matter what your target is it will still operate by placing bids via that target site.
