|
|
Hello,
due to whatever reason, i had to change my ebay password. So I had also to reauthorize Gixen for automated bidding. I thought, everything should now be fine. But a recent bid failed due to "INVALID AUTHORIZATION" Thanks to this complication I wonder, how to check, if Gixen is reauthorized properly and bid correctly.
Thanks for any informations and hints,
best

On the Ebay side you can check the status of the authorisation by looking at:
My Ebay -> Account -> Site preferences -> Third-party authorisations
On the Gixen side it is reflected in the second section of the Settings page.
If it somehow gets revoked by Ebay, that may be reflected on Ebay, however Gixen and yourself do not ever receive any notification of this happening and hence the Gixen Settings page can occasionally be wrong. It is not until you get a snipe failure with a status that indicates a problem with your authorisation that you find out that this has happened.
Mario has said that he has implemented a system whereby when you update your authorisation this immediately gets used for all snipes, whether or not they were scheduled before that update. There have been a couple of comments here that indicate that might not work in every case yet though. So a belt and braces approach would be to reschedule all snipes after you have reauthorised, just to make sure that new authorisation is the one that gets used. Hopefully that won't be necessary once Mario confirms that this does now work in all cases. _________________ Mark |

According to my Ebay third party authorization, it shows Gixen is authorized. But when I set up a bid on Gixen, a warning message comes up saying my authorization on Ebay expired. Now what do I do? |

Since the type of authorisation has changed in the past month it's hard to tell whether the one that Ebay has a record of is for the old or new interface.
Since Gixen is highlighting a problem it's best if you just reauthorise it anyway, via the second section on the Settings page, after all it costs you nothing other than your time. _________________ Mark |
