So gutted that I missed on multiple auctions because of this HTTP Timeout message today and a random Ended message yesterday on some auctions too. What is going on, why has the service dropped so poorly?
Item number for today : 122742118524 |

No, and its weird because some bids went through and some didn't. Not very reliable imo. |

OK,
Only Mario can look into it in more detail.
So, please email him direct at the support address given on the Contact tab above.
In that email please include your Gixen id and also refer back to this thread so that he can provide an answer here. _________________ Mark |

|

re 362137559970
I had bids on 4 similar, but different, lots. This one encountered a HTTP TIMEOUT (77). All lots were mirrored. I won the other 3. Guess I just don't understand how there is a timeout for both bids or would the timeout be for ePay. I am happy to get the 3 but how can I help so that this does not happen in the future |

The best thing to do would be to email this information to Mario directly at his support address as outlined on the Support page. Then, he'll be able to check the server logs and, hopefully, figure out what happened and perhaps correct the problem so it doesn't recur. _________________ John

There was an issue with eBay yesterday around 11am PST. Snipes from both servers were occasionally timing out around that time.
Subsequent database issue experienced by mirror server (and seen by some users in the web interface) was a consequence of this. I have since taken measures to prevent the front-end from being affected if this happens again, but there was nothing I could have done about the slow-responding ebay. |
