it appears that I've been outbid on 140173812433, there were 2 bids placed after mine, (one 10 seconds later?). Can the time be less than 6 seconds (which was at least 10 in this case)?

I think you need to look again, the auction ended at 01:20:32 GMT, your bid ws placed at 01:20:27 GMT, thats 5 seconds before the end of the auction.

The winning bid was placed at 01:20:17, thats 10 seconds before your bid and 15 before the end of the auction.

So in this case you were outbid by someone that was prepared to pay more, they bid late but not as late as you so they could not have been reacting to your bid.
