I was successfully buying using Gixen tonight when suddenly 2 auctions failed. THe last one was itme 302014906055. The message said "CANCELED - VERIFICATION CODE REQUIRED BY EBAY". What does this mean? How can I fix it?

I am surprised that you say that only two auctions failed. You had dozens of them ending at the same time. Have you seen a warning when you added them? There was simply no way this wouldn't trigger ebay's captchas.

That is strange. No... I did not get any warning (though the other day I did when I had 3 with the same ending time. What is strange is I DID NOT have dozens ending at the same time. Though I did have a couple dozen over the course of the day, If any were the same minute, at most it would have been 2 or 3, and it was NOT the case when the 2 were canceled (though I guess any previous incidents could have triggered some sort of Ebay action). Did it really show dozens at the same time? Was it possible that it was the same item showing up multiple times?

Thanks
Steve

I am also having this problem. Some of my auctions I tried to snipe from last night say "CANCELED - VERIFICATION CODE REQUIRED BY EBAY". In addition, all of my scheduled auctions say the same thing. Interestingly, it looks like the snipes from last night with that cancellation message still went through cleanly. Do you think my scheduled snipes will still go through? Or should I do something? And if so, what?

eBay UsedID is homeruncards.com.
eBay item # of a successful snipe despite cancellation message: 232011457232
eBay item # a scheduled auction with cancellation message: 162125408872

There are lots more item #'s. If you need me to post more I can.

Thanks,

Chuck

Did you act on the warnings that you did get and space out the bids on the items that had the same ending time by using different offsets?

Once you have triggered that action by Ebay I recommend that you not use an automated service like Gixen for at least a few days.

Ebay usually remove the restriction after a short while, but in the mean time I would suggest that you place your bids manually on Ebay.

Mine were cancelled and did not go through even though the winning bid was below mine.

Thanks for the suggestion for putting in offset times. I would think that would work.

I did call Ebay to see if there were any restrictions put on my account that could have caused this. They said no. I did put 2 bids in through Gixen today. Will see how that goes.

Thanks
Steve

Unfortunately Ebay customer service can not always tell you what restrictions the Ebay software has on your account logging in from all locations... because they do not necessarily have the tools available to them in order to find out.

Once a snipe appears as 'Cancelled' on Gixen it should not take any further action on that snipe... however, if you have a Mirror account, you may find that snipes are only cancelled on one server if that is the only location where Ebay has taken action against your account.

I did not receive a warning from Gixen about spacing out my auctions recently. But whenever I do, I always follow the warning's instructions.

Well, the bid I put in today worked. Maybe something reset.

So..... from what I am getting from all this is that I should not have multiple bids put in at the same time. If I have more than one auction at the same time I should stagger the times the bids are entered. Correct?

Thanks in advance

So, I woke up yesterday or the day before and all of my auctions had been ended...over 100. Demanded user verification. Now, the process of restoring this per the instructions from Gixen is nigh on impossible since my computer is refusing to print screens. This is the same thing that happened a few months ago when Gixen was attacked. Please fix this for us...I am paying alot more for items and having to stay up ungodly hours sniping. It's not me or my bidding. Been doing the same thing and have bid on around 800 auctions.

animegination,

If Ebay take action against your account, that prevents sniping, there is very little that Gixen can do about it, unfortunately, you do sometimes need to take some proactive action yourself.

I presume you have resolved the situation with Ebay by using the Gixen Socks Proxy?

Have you got a Mirror subscription?

What process are you finding 'nigh on impossible'? Without knowing what it is you are trying to do it is difficult to know what else to suggest you try.

Unfortunately, it did it again. Fortunately, I was keeping an eye on it. I did not have multiple bids at the same time going in, yet an auction that I would have lost anyway did not place my bid because Ebay needed a verification code. I watched the next auction, and when my bid did not go in, I manually snipped and won that auction. The rest of my scheduled bids were all cancelled because eEbay needed a verification code. Hopefully this resets again tomorrow morning, but now I am a bit paranoid.

Not sure what else I can do.

Steve
