As Mario has mentioned elsewhere it appears that Ebay are experiencing many more time-outs on requests recently.. and Mario sought to improve things for snipes entered with an offset of 6 seconds or more by trying again if a response was not received in the normal time-frame..
Sadly, with only 3 seconds left, that improvement will have no effect on the reliability of snipes at this time... either you have to hope that things improve at Ebay with respect to honouring requests, or alternatively I would recommend increasing your offset in order to take advantage of the improvements that Mario is able to make from the Gixen side.
