I can no longer "login" to GixenDesktopManager. When I start the program, I get an error "Could not get country, using default" followed by "ERROR (101): COULD NOT LOGIN" and the the GIXEN dialog bow pops up. Next I get another box "Could not get item list. API returned : ERROR (101): COULD NOT LOGIN". The later error is repeated if I try to add an item.
I'm not sure when the started (relative to changes in my computer) but I successfully ran some bids a couple of months ago.
I'm running Vesta on a PC using Google Chrome but have tried IE with same results. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong ?

Richard, can you please try to log in to the web interface first? |

Sorry but I don't understand.
I have started either IE or Google browsers before loading the Manager but results are same. So the web interface is something different ?

The web interface is available when you log in here on the website.
It is different from the Gixen Desktop manager which is a stand alone application that runs in the Windows operating system _________________ Mark |

Thank You
I did not realize an automatic password routine was over-riding my signin password and defeating my attempts. I've eliminated it and now all is fine.

I can never log in from the desktop app, so I log in here first and then the desktop app synchronizes somehow. Now, as of today, I can't get the desktop app to log in at all. I have tried clearing my browser cache, restarting my browser, restarting the desktop app over and over, but it still won't log me in.
Any ideas? |

Have you always had the "Could not get country, using default" when you try to log in to the Gixen Desktop Manager?
Are you using the most up to date version of the software?
It might be an idea to download it again from the same link. _________________ Mark |

I have removed the previous installation of GixenDesktopManager and reinstalled it. Now I can log in, but it's still not pulling my current Gixen list. Is that because I uninstalled and reinstalled? It's not the end of the world, but I would like to be able to use the GDM for the items that I just added last night if it's possible. I'm assuming that anything new will show up now?
Also, I failed to mention the first time that I am using Win7 x64 and Chrome Canary, if that matters.
Thanks for your help. |

Are you getting any error messages in the GDM after you have logged in... The intention is that it has all the same snipes as you see when you log in via the web interface here... if that is not the case then there is something still wrong.
Have you changed your Ebay credentials recently?... If so that would account for the loss of some snipes from your display, changing credentials on Ebay means snipes set up with older details can no longer be accessed on Gixen.
The operating system you are running the GDM on may have some significance.. I would however expect some error messages if that were part of the problem... In any case, if you know how to get it to run in compatibility mode on your system, than I would recommend doing that... The GDM still supports OS systems back to XP, I believe... but that means some later systems need to make sure they are compatible with that older system. _________________ Mark |

I tried changing compatibility to XP just to see what it would do - no go; I changed it back to Windows 7 compatibility and also marked it to run as administrator to see if that would do anything, but no.
I get no errors at all, and when it opens, it says it's connecting, then fetching snipes, etc. but the list is still blank.
I have not changed any of my info on eBay, and I am definitely logged in already when I launch the GDM. It shows my eBay user name and password... but the snipes just won't sync up.
I may try adding the same items I already have to see what it does. And I suspect that if I add something new, it will retain that.
Thanks for your suggestions - eventually I'm sure it will work. |

Follow-up to above message - I just added the four items that I have here on the website, and the GDM added them as if they were new - it did not indicate that it detected duplicates, so... I'm just going to go with that and as I said above, see what happens if I add another item that was never on the list. I normally add from the GDM, not the site, so if it works now, I'm going to assume that the glitch was only because I uninstalled and reinstalled after I had already placed snipes on the website when the GDM was not up-to-date. I'll let you know what happens! Thanks again. |

This means that either your username or password is different when you log in via Web UI and GDM. This should not be the case. Please email me and include one item id that you added through both GDM and Web UI so that I can see what is different. |
