Does anyone else know the Ebay ids that you use?
It seems very strange for all your different accounts to have multiple failed attempts at logging in, all at the same time. _________________ Mark |

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I keep getting a message that eBay is using a captcha because my password is not strong enough, but it most certainly is, and there is no captcha being used when I sign into the site. |

thephdfund,
This is not the same issue as the OP is experiencing where they are locked out of Gixen because they have got their password wrong too many times.
If this is happening when you try to log in to Gixen, have you ever been able to do so?... If you have previously logged in to Gixen, have you recently changed your password on Ebay?.. That can prompt this issue to occur and then it is best to stop trying for at least 24 hours. Ebay usually only imposes it temporarily.
The presumed cause is that Ebay detects you logging in via a different location (Gixen servers) and puts a block in the form of a captcha in place to prevent any fraud that might be being attempted. So you wouldn't see it when logging in from a computer Ebay already associates with your account.
You may find instructions available linked to your failed snipes, if you are able to log in to Gixen, that may help you to resolve this issue... if you can't locate those and the problem is still there in a day or so's time then I recommend emailing Mario at the support address given on the Contact tab above, detailing exactly what problems you are experiencing, and then he may then be able to provide some instructions as to what to do that might help resolve the issue for you. _________________ Mark |

I'm having the same error message. I even tried changing my password and no joy. |

I suspect Ebay may be targeting Gixen servers again... Mario will need to investigate if this is the case. _________________ Mark |

Yes, I did change my password, back in May when asked to. I have probably had 50 successful bids since then using Gixen. The last bid was a few days ago.
I cannot log into the Gixen site.
I would suspect it is something on the eBay end as everything is normal with my account on eBay, no captcha when I log into the site, which I have done 40 times today trying to resolve this in both FF and IE.
Hopefully Mario can find the issue. |

Same issue here (Gixen giving me a message about a captcha). Never hat that issue before today. So I went and strengthened my password, but that did not help. What helped was persistence… I made a few more login attempts, and it finally worked. But I hope making 10 login attempts won't be necessary in the future. |

well I had been able to log in, but I cannot again, and my bid was not entered so Gixen was obviously not able to enter it.
Kinda sucks to have lost it as it went for 33% below my top bid. :/ |

Same problem as everyone else at 7:42pm Mountain Time. Tried changing ebay password, clearing browser cache and cookied, multiple browsers. Always can login directly to ebay, but never via gixen
Gixen Msg is:
"
Wrong password, or your password may not be strong enough, resulting in eBay requesting captcha verification code. Please change your password at eBay first if this is the case. " |

There were quite a few issues with ebay this evening that caused users not to be able to log in, and also some snipes to fail with message "VERIFICATION CODE REQUIRED BY EBAY".
I am looking at this at the moment. |
