Hi, I lost an item that I was trying to buy, no one else ended up bidding on it, so I was confused, and the message I see on Gixen is: EBAY ERROR: TRANSACTION BLOCKED (1). When I click for more information, it says "Transaction Blocked - Cannot bid on this kind of item." Why did this happen? Is there a way to know which items will have this issue in the future to avoid losing out on them? The item number was 121402575743.
Thank you for your help! |

Very odd... Was the snipe Mirrored?... If so, did you get the same status on the Mirror tab?
The 'auction' does not appear to have the normal format for a finished auction... it looks like a Buy It Now that has finished.
Did it have a Buy It Now option that someone has taken, so it finished early?
Or perhaps the seller was able to convert an auction into a Buy It Now only item? _________________ Mark |

Thank you for looking into this. I've used this sniping site many times and have never gotten something like this. I did not use the mirror service. I didn't think the item had a Buy it Now feature, but I was looking at it on my phone, so maybe it did and I somehow missed it. That would make sense with the error message I received. Thank you for your help! |

For you to have been able to add it to Gixen it must, at some stage, have looked like an auction.
Since it doesn't look like that now I suspect the seller changed it... it might be worth asking the seller... and asking if they still have it whether they will re-list at a price you are willing to pay. _________________ Mark

I agree, it doesn't look like this was an auction, but a buy-it-now-only listing. The seller either changed the type of the listing (not sure if this is possible), or Gixen allowed adding buy-it-now-only listing, which is a bug. Either way, it was not possible to snipe this item. |

It IS permissible for a seller to change an auction listing to a 'Buy It Now' listing if no bids have been made on the auction listing. (And since Gixen does not actually enter any bid iwth EBay until the very last moment, having a Gixen snipe set does not prevent such a re-listing from happening.) |
