|

Does Gixen only make one maximum bid at the end of the auction? Or does it make a bunch of small bid amounts until I am the highest bidder?
For example...If the item is currently at $10, and someone else set their maximum bid to $15, what happens if I set my Gixen bid at $20? Does Gixen bid $20 at the last few seconds, or does it stop at $15.01? |

It bids $20... however, that does not mean that you necessarily have to pay that much because the way that the Ebay bidding system works the most that you ever have to pay is one bid increment more than the next highest bidder. _________________ Mark |

I'll up this topic cause, even reading your last post, I don't get it. I'm foreign so my understanding may not be really good tho. Btw, ebay auctions stuff are new to me.
Here is my question :
I aim at winning an auction on an item priced at 129.00.
I did read about bid the increment rules, and it seems that I'd have to bid, at least, +2.5 for my bid to be accepted.
Starting from this idea, what I did is I checked how many ppl were checking the item page per day, if 3, then 3x2.5+129+2.5(my part)=139, so 139 may be a good bid to be set in gixen to have good chances to win the auction.
But now I doubt it's the way it works and the way to do.
Lets imagine I set my bid as 190, will gixen send a +2.5 bid at the offset time or will it send my bid as 190 (meaning I'll have to pay this price), while the bid just below was, for exemple, 140 ?
How does it works excactly ?
Thanks for any reply, and sorry about my poor english and my gaps on the subject. |

What it always comes down to you doing is deciding what the maximum you are willing to pay is, taking into account the shipping cost, and then set that as your snipe amount on Gixen... and then hope that you win and do not have to pay that much. _________________ Mark
