eBay listing 290928572912

I capped my bidding on the above listing at $175.00

I won with a sniped bid of $172.00

The nearest high bid was $131.34

Bid increment was about $2.00?

I paid $40.66 MORE than the nearest high bid.

By my math, I OVERPAID by over $38.00

How does that happen???

Contact ebay and ask them why this is so. I agree that this looks odd. Gixen does nothing different than what you would do manually, so it wasn't Gixen that caused this in any way.

Was there a reserve price set on this auction? That's the only time when I see that bid can "jump" over the increments in order to meet the reserve.
