|
|
Hi
Im subscribed to gixen mirror service.
I set gixen up 3 days before the end of an auction i wished to bid on.
About 10 minutes before the end of the auction i decided to increase my bid on gixen - I'm glad i did this as the final price was more than my initial bid but I DID actually win the item so was pleased.
Just out of interest, I decided to check what gixen had done, this being only the 2nd time i had used the mirror service.
One computer had successfully placed the bid (Chicago Main) but the mirror (Miami) said 'bid under asking price' and only one of the 2 bids was placed on the item.
Why is this when i'm PAYING for the mirror service? |

This is completely normal - when one server places your maximum bid with ebay, another can't do that, unless the new maximum bid is higher (hence "bid under asking price"). If one of them, however, fails, the second one would place the bid. Sometimes you can see both bids if they arrive exactly at the same moment.
If the offset is the same for main and mirror, it's completely random which bid will arrive first. |
