Bob, it means seller blocked you from bidding for some reason. It may be specific to you, or it may be related to your location or other. Have you had any dealings with this seller before? |

I get blocked all the time, just for asking about shipping costs.. I always regard it as their problem, not mine... there are some strange sellers out there. _________________ Mark |

Cupid,
Sellers are the the only users who do strange things. Buyers do strange things too |

Mario,
I had the same thing happen May 04, 201112:13:03 PDT, item #110680250263. My gixen bid was 10.56; the item sold for the minimum bid of 9.99.
This is a seller with whom I have done business several times including just a week or two ago. I wrote to inquire if he had blocked me for some reason and he replied "No, please try again" (How? Item sold!) and he did not know what might have happened. I'm wondering if it was a glitch in eBay or Gixen for a day or two?
It has been my experience (the one time I was blocked by a seller, and the one time a friend of mine was) that it is not just bidding that is blocked, but once blocked, you cannot even *contact* the seller.
As a side note, I'll agree that some sellers block bidders for odd reasons. I was blocked AFTER paying for an item simply because I questioned (on the PayPal receipt!) why the seller had included "or best offer" yet refused an offer of like 9.50 on a $10 item. The seller refunded my payment, saying the item was 'defective' and not available, then relisted it immediately and blocked me from any bidding or contact. When I left neutral feedback for the transaction, she then asked me for a feedback revision some months later!
My friend was blocked by a seller for merely asking a question about whether a certain guitar pick was authentic or not.
Anyway, I'd be curious about this error:
EBAY ERROR: SELLER NOT ACCEPTING BID
Because it cost me an item I'd wanted very badly, and apparently (and according to the seller, and best as I can determine) no reason for it. |

Since Gixen is just looking at what it gets back from bidding on eBay for you and reporting it back to you, it is unlikely that it could be a glitch with Gixen.
However I can confirm I have had a similar situation where a seller has claimed not to have blocked me after I have received this status from Gixen. It happened on more than one occasion for the same seller seperated by several weeks so it has to be related to the interaction between our two accounts... the seller said they would take the issue up with eBay support but since I have not found anything of interest that they have for sale since that time I can not confirm whether it was resolved or not.
I now always check that the seller has deliberately blocked me when I get this status.
As far as being blocked from communicating, I have had this, sometimes from sellers that have also blocked my bids, it appears that it is a seperate and independent option that a seller can select.
I tend to assume that a seller that blocks bids after you enquire about authenticity alreafy knows that they are selling fake items, so that kind of block I actually welcome as it saves me the hassle of complaining later. _________________ Mark

Yeah, yeah. I thought of that as I was typing it or posting it, but was too lazy to fix it.
I'm still waiting for Mario's theory on why this happened though. I really do not believe this user blocked me, as I'm a good & regular customer, and he says he did not. |

I don't need a theory, I actually have the ebay response page logged. If you email me, I can provide you with the entire page, but there is nothing much on it, except the following text:
"Seller not accepting your bid
# Unfortunately, the seller cannot accept your bid on this item. This can happen for a couple of reasons. For example, the seller may be limiting how many items you can buy from him or her in a specific time period. Learn more. "
So I would say that this seller limited in some way how many items an individual bidder can buy from him / her. I have no idea why some sellers do that, it's completely against their own interest. |

My theory is that there are some glitches with the eBay software that controls this and so sometimes eBay gets confused about who has blocked who, but I can't prove it, of course.
I would expect that the more different sellers you use, the more auctions that you bid on and the more sellers that have blocks against you the more likely it is for you to encounter the alleged (by me) glitch on eBay.
I do bid on a lot of auctions I'm not very loyal to any seller (very few consistently have what I am looking for, unless they are amongst the biggest sellers on the site) and I have picked up quite a few blocks from sellers that are over sensitive about the way you ask a question. _________________ Mark |
