I just setup an item to be bid on & Gixen is showing the time left as 2 d, 44 m but the eBay time left is actually showing as 2 days & 00 minutes.
I could understand if there was a time difference as far as the hours because of time zones but why would the minutes be wrong?
How can an item get bid, and/or at the right time, if the end time that shows is after the auction ends?
Regards,
Robert |

eBay is rounding. See end time and calculate it yourself. |

No they don't. Whoever told you that???
Now they have fixed it though because today it showed correctly.
It showed 1 d, 10 h, 20 m & eBay also showed 1d 10d 20m. So they match now.
Why on earth would eBay round off the time left? If they did that no one would be able to know how much time was left till an item really ended.
The only thing they don't list is the seconds until a certain point. |

Robert,
Anything over 1 day (24 hours) ebay will show only days and hours as time to end, not minutes. This is probably to save space, and because the information on remaining minutes is not considered important for auctions that have days to finish. In this case, ebay would say 2 days, 0 hours (but not 2 days, 0 minutes as you noted) to end, and will not even show those 44 minutes.
So the previous poster is correct. |

I'm not imagining what I am seeing people.
I am looking at the site & had just checked the item before posting this information.
Where do you think I came up with the times?
Do you really think I just made them up?
There are many different views of an item on eBay. How you an item determines the format in which the remaining time shows. If you either pull up & look at the individual item itself or if you are viewing it through My eBay then yes only the day & minutes show till the time gets below a certain point however if you are viewing the item within the list of items that you have searched it does show the full amount of time left minus the seconds till the end. |

Robert, I believe you - anything is possible really, especially because ebay keeps changing the UI. Next time you see this, please make a screenshot of both eBay and Gixen pages (refresh both before making screenshots, so that they can be compared), and email them to me.
Either way, I believe that's merely a UI issue, if these were causing any snipes to fail that would be a mess I would immediately be aware of. |

Thank you mario.
I don't think it will cause a problem snipes either.
It just threw me off when I saw the time show up differently being this was my first snipe to setup.
I now understand why though.
I'm still not exactly sure what at the time I set the auction up it only showed Days & Minutes but now it does show all three Days, Hours, & Minutes.
I guess it just happened to be timing though. |
