Bid lost although I was the higher bidder???

Hello, I don't understand, I had a maximum bid at 386 dollars and the sell ended at 385 but Gixen told me that my bid was under the higher bid??? So I lost. Why?

Because of eBays bid increment rule, eBay will only accept bids that are at least one increment above the current auction price, for further details see here:

Gixen will have told you that the bid was under the 'Asking Price', which it was, not that it was under the high bidders price.
