Unfortunately it happens that snipes are late. It's rare, but that 1 in 300 that's late still happens. Since I have 30,000 or so snipes in the database at every moment, I can see statistics that individual users can't.
And while I obviously have an interest in promoting mirror service, I believe myself that it's worth having it, exactly for this reason.

Thanks Mario. I appreciate it.
I love the service and I always recommend it to other sports memorabilia collectors on those boards. This is the first issue I've ever had and I snipe a lot.

John,
It looks like this snipe was late, and the status was mis-interpreted by Gixen.
Sorry about the confusion - I will see that I fix this.

Thanks Mark. I appreciate the reply - the snipe was not mirrored, I placed the 1st bid - 3.99, then I set my snipe at 13.99 in Gixen in left.
I completely understand snipes fail sometimes and its my fault for not having mirror service.
Now, I'm just looking for a logical explanation because "BID UNDER ASKING PRICE" doesn't make sense.
I don't see any retractions and I was not logged into eBay myself. Any idea what happened? The auction only had 2 bidders - me first then the winner with 8 seconds left.
Thanks,
John

Was this snipe Mirrored?
If so what was the status that Gixen gave the snipe on the Mirror tab?
Did you also place any bids manually?

Post subject: lost auction with my snipe high than sell price
Item ID: 331776887781
Le Roy " Ace" Gutowsky,Detroit Lions Football,Matchbook Cover,1934,Rare!! (by sadl-ethe)
ENDED 13.99 4.24 USD BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
Why did I lose this auction? It sold for 4.24 and my snipe was 13.99?
Thanks.
