Sorry, I was still writing my post when Mario posted his response... it seems we agree in any case.

I have found this statement on the Settings page and I agree with you that it DOES imply that the original snipes will be deleted. That is wrong and the statement should either be changed to reflect the actual function or the snipes should be deleted (as you assumed they would) from an account when the Mirror status is deliberately moved to another account.
It also means that my statement that:

is incorrect and I therefore apologise unreservedly.
I think the error on the settings page may have occurred because most often a transfer is made to update Gixen regarding name changes to accounts on Ebay... then since the Ebay name is changed by the user that effectively cancels all the old snipes on the old name because the credentials of those snipes are no longer correct. Obviously this is NOT the case when the transfer is made between two active Ebay accounts.

My understanding of what you are requesting by moving a Mirror subscription is that you no longer want the added reliability provided by having two servers bid on the Ebay account that you are moving the subscription away from... it does not follow that you also wish to cancel all the snipes on that account you may still want them to be executed just in a downgraded form.
Further, you want greater reliability on the account you are moving the Mirror subscription to, but it does not follow that you are going to use that account for the same purpose as the other one.
Only you know what your intentions are when moving a subscription and, in my opinion, Gixen should not attempt to interpret them. It should perform the action of moving the Mirror subscription, as requested, thus removing the features of that subscription from the original account and assigning the privileges to another account but it should leave you to sort out what you want to do with any active snipes on either account.

Rudi, I agree that the text under the "mirror transfer form" that says snipes will be lost is not correct, or at least incomplete, and I will have it changed. To be honest with you, the only circumstance in which I envisioned users transferring their mirror subscription is if they change their ebay username (in which case snipes under the old account are indeed lost), so something like this hasn't happened in all these years.
Can you please ask the seller to re-list? Usually this is not a problem.

Hi Mark,
Under "settings" it says:
"Transfer your mirror subscription to another ebay username.
Note: All the snipes under your current username will be lost."
I therefore was under the impression that automatically
all
snipes were deleted under the old username. Besides, what's the point if only the snipes on the mirror server are deleted and not the one's on the main server?

Rudi.

I think that the fact that you had to re-enter the snipe on your other account should have been enough indication to you that your assumption was wrong.
It is not desirable for snipes to be transferred with a Mirror subscription in any case since not everyone would want that behaviour.

Post subject: Overbid myself
Hi,
I transferred my mirror subscription from one ebay username to another on March 18th or 19th. (I'm sure you can see the correct date. I can't). There was an open snipe with my old username on item 360879678515 which I reintroduced on my new username. On March 21st the auction on this item ended.
To my surprise I was the highest and second highest bidder. So Gixen did not cancel the old snipe. This means that I outbid myself. Where normally this item would have cost me 51.05 (or about 70 $) I now have to pay 149.87 (or about 206 $). This is an extra 130 $ because the old snipe wasn't deleted as it should have.
Apparently there is a bug in the system.
Regards,
Rudi.
