Hello David,
I'm assuming that your maximum bid was 38.76?
If so, it was submitted 2 seconds before the end, the winning bidder had placed a higher bid 5 seconds before that, so it was not a reaction to your bid.
The way that the Ebay bidding system works, if another bidder has a higher bid than yours accepted at any time you can not beat it, no matter when you place your bid.
Gixen always places the highest bid that you specify, you do not necessarily have to pay that much if another bidder does not have a bid accepted that is of a similar amount though, this is all worked out by the automated ebay bidding system... Equally there is never any need for Gixen to bid more than once from a single server.
This is all quite normal, nothing has gone wrong with your auction, you were just not prepare to pay as much as the winner had already decided they were willing to pay before your bid was placed.

Post subject: Outbid after 3 seconds Ebay 111170256256
Sorry to whinge, but........... my Gixen would have won, even though my max but after my Snipe was entered, previous bidder out-bid me - am I right that E-bay auto system can do this, or is there an error somewhere?
Second time this has happened - so, if my max had have been greater than it was, and/ or greater than bidder I had 'beat', would Gixen have had time to re-bid?
Thanks for the system, by the way,
Regards
David
