I've taken those out as well as the $, would it be easier to get a list of punctuation that is known to be safe to use in passwords or perhaps the safe password length?
Sorry to be a pain, trying to maximise my security

As far as I can remember, $ sign is the worst. I would also avoid quotes of any kind (single, double).

Post subject: Password Characters
I've used apg within Linux to generate a random password which may use what some consider to be strange characters to generate passwords.
Can anyone tell me which characters appear to cause problems with Gixen so I can avoid them?
