Once you get an idea of sniping (snipe at your absolute maximum and let it go), you will not even need the current bid value.

Sorry, but current price is not real-time any more. It's been that way for a long time now. You should, however, know what your maximum really is when you place your snipe. After all, isn't such behaviour (incrementally increasing maximum bid only when you are outbid) of other users exactly the reason why you snipe?

Post subject: delay in displaying current ebay bid
There is a significant delay in Gixen displaying the current ebay bid so I don't always know that I need to increase my bid until it's too late. I have also been losing MANY auctions!!!!
