I agree, I can't see any advantage (to anyone) in doing that deliberately, which tends to lead me in the direction of a mistake having been made somewhere, rather than anything malicious occurring.
Where such an error occurred is going to require further investigation though. If the owner of the other Gixen account didn't accidentally link your account themselves it seems feasible that such an error could occur on the Gixen side... but only Mario will be able to investigate anything at that level.
I think the only other time I recall an issue like that being reported, it turned out to be caused by a husband and wife sharing computers, hence my initial questions in that regard.

Thanks, I've sent him the info.
I don't ever use it on a shared, computer no.
Bit weird indeed! I can't really see what is in it for anyone to use my eBay account to bid on items via Gixen. I'm confident that my eBay password was secure.

That certainly does seem strange.
Do you ever log into your Ebay account on computers that others may have access to ?
Do you save your Ebay credentials in your browser, in order to access your Ebay account faster ?
In order to investigate further Mario will need both Gixen IDs that this message related to, so it's probably best if you share those with him via email at the support address provided on the
Contact page

Post subject: Someone else\'s eBay account linked to my Gixen
Yesterday I set up a snipe for the first time in a while, I relinked my ebay account to my Gixen account, no problem.
This morning the snipe happened and I won the item, great, but then an hour later I got two more emails from eBay saying I had won two more items that I didn't recognise. Only the snipe I set up appears in my account.
Thinking this was weird I changed my eBay password. I then got two emails from Gixen:
Code:
This is a notice that your eBay account [my ebay id] is now unlinked from your Gixen account [someone i don't recognise] due to eBay password change.
Code:
This is a notice that your eBay account [my ebay id] is now unlinked from your Gixen account [my gixen account] due to eBay password change.
Clearly someone else's Gixen account had become linked to my eBay account.
Does anybody know how this can happen?!
