Unfortunately I don't know - ebay returned the login screen again, after which it would ask for something. Usually it's a credit card, so check if you have an expired credit card on your ebay account (or none). I am working on fixing this to at least provide more info, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Post subject: E-Bay auction lost....
Hi there...I tried your service for the 1st time today and it failed...
My bid was 13.00 higher than the winning bid but my bid was
never placed...The screen said Unknown Error 2 I think...and
when I clicked on that it said Error Log missing or some such
and to contact Customer Support to find out why...?
...This was done under the user ID teddybearkisses1 and the bid
was supposed to be 140.00....The auction item # was 220396968126.
Could you check this out for me and
figure out what happened...Thanks so much.
Robin

Thanks Mario. I was tempted to leave it and see what happened to the next snipe (just as an experiment!), but now think it was some restriction placed on that auction by that seller, or one of ebay's little checks, so no point. So CC details updated, and we'll see what happens tomorrow :)

Thank you for trying to replicate the problem. I recommend that you update your CC now and continue sniping normally. I will see that I modify the code to pass that second login screen if needed.

OK, just did this (item 250399606426 -- not the same seller tho). Bid was accepted, so....
Maybe the other seller had some special restriction on that I can't see...

I think this caused it - but please do me a favour and verify this - place a low bid before updating your card.

Actually the credit card used to setup the account *is* expired -- has been for months -- but I didn't care coz I wasn't selling anything....

Yes it is (I'm in Australia)
I'm a bit worried -- my next snipe's scheduled in 12 hours :(

OK, I fixed the display error, any future "unknown errors" should be visible. In this particular case, ebay returned a login screen in the middle of the flow (after already being logged in). I was puzzled with this until recently, when a user informed me that they do this when they want additional information before placing a bid (usually a credit card to "verify" your account).
So, if your ebay account is not verified, or contains an expired credit card, I would check this now. Of course, I cannot be sure this is the reason why this happened.

The 'View Error Log' certainly needs sorting out, thanks for reporting it.
Only Mario can determine what happened at this stage, but one thought occurs, is your eBay account registered with a shipping address in Australia because that auction is only available to buyers there?

Post subject: Unknown Error (2) -- what is this??
Got this error for a snipe on item 230334016806. Clicking on the "View Error" button gave me "Error log not found. Please contact Gixen support."
What caused this, and is it likely to happen again?
