When two high bids of the same amount are accepted by eBay the earlier one wins, this is one of the bidding rules on eBay.
This is one of the reasons why I set my default offset to be earlier than the default of 6 seconds before the auction ends.

I know you no doubt have addressed this question-----but I recently lost an item and when I looked at the history I was the last bidder in time but lost the item for the same bid amount-------why?? Thanks sorry to ask the same question I am sure others have
