You entered a maximum bid of 153, not 132.

I put 132
If you really did enter an amount that was below the amount that you won the auction for that's a serious issue that needs further investigation. I've never seen that actually happen.
Quote:
there was no currency unit.
You can't ever enter a currency unit and none is displayed when entering a snipe, the currency is always that of the auction, that is where you are expected to pick that up from. There is a currency unit displayed on the My Snipes page after the snipe has been scheduled which confirms what you are prepared to pay.

I was the final high bidder, but it went to bid again at same second or so.
You're actually misinterpreting what Ebay is displaying for you there, there's actually only one bid there with a date stamp of '30 Aug 2026 at 9:07:50pm BST' on the uk site. The slightly greyed out one is just how Ebay displays what was necessary to outbid the previous high bid of ?GBP 102.00 from within that new bid.
Quote:
the auction didnt indicate a reserve not met or some reserve words on the page unless is something new like a secret reserve that will inform bidder (then I would not know)
It's no longer possible to see whether a reserve was indicated on an auction after it has completed, you did used to get an indication on the bids page that a reserve had been met, but no longer. That's not a step forward in my opinion, but that's where we are with Ebay now. All I can say is that display is consistent with there having been one in place. You could try asking the seller if they had one or not.

the 139.99 was certainly something new (at first I wondered if it had been a conversion within Gixen ...
There is definitely never any conversion on the Gixen side of things. If you need to know what you're likely to pay in a different currency you always have to work that out yourself, I have a spreadsheet that I use which I update with the latest currency conversion rates on a regular basis.
EDIT:.... Actually we all missed this bid:
f***v (194) ?GBP 137.99 30 Aug 2026 at 9:07:51pm BST
So, that rules out the discussion about there being a reserve, actually your bid just outbid another users.
There's still the question about your bid amount though... and only Mario can look at the server logs to see what that actually was, and why. For that you'll need to contact him direct at the support address given on the
Contact page
, and I'd suggest, as well as providing your Gixen id you also give him a link to this thread.

Hi,
was ebay.co.uk.
I put 132 (there was no currency unit.), so I assume 132 pound is ok.
The 2 things I encounter first time was:
1. I was the final high bidder, but it went to bid again at same second or so. (if see the history)
the auction didnt indicate a reserve not met or some reserve words on the page unless is something new like a secret reserve that will inform bidder (then I would not know)
2. the 139.99 was certainly something new (at first I wondered if it had been a conversion within Gixen eg.it converted the amount to enter the bid), if it was not a 104 pound, the system code went to convert pound or USD, then renter the bid amount, but like you say it is straightforward as the site currency. then it is not currency conversion.
Thanks.

The bid amount is always in the currency of the auction, so on this it wasn't possible to bid in USD only GBP.
So you say your snipe amount for auction 336757670872 was 132 GBP?
If so, that's something Mario could and should look into behind the scenes, because it would be the first time that a bid has been reported as higher than entered by the user, in all these years.
Otherwise, it looks like the seller had a reserve price.
Gixen always submits your highest bid, what you actually pay depends on what others have actually bid, including the seller selecting a reserve amount, they have to pay extra for that. That has always been the case right from the start.

Post subject: Bug it just bids on some high amount regardless
Noted now it seems to bid on the maximum amount of your bid, regardless what the last other partys' bids were. and there was no currency unit, so I put 132 assuming it was USD, but anyways the bid went to ?GBP 140?
eg item. 336757670872
?GBP 139.99 30 Aug 2026 at 9:07:50pm BST
me: ?GBP 104.00 30 Aug 2026 at 9:07:50pm BST
someone: ?GBP 102.00. 30 Aug 2026 at 9:07:51pm BST
Thanks.
