It is perhaps worth noting that there has always needed to be a slightly different interpretation of opening prices without bids, as opposed to those with one, in that Ebay will accept a bid at the opening price when there are no bids but will only accept one at least one bid increment more than that once a bid has been placed. However, at least, all that information has traditionally been available on the Gixen snipes page... Now not all the required information to know what bid will be accepted is always present, when the seller is registered as private.[/quote]

Post subject: 4% buyer protection premium
eBay is now charging UK buyers a \"protection\" premium when buying from private sellers. It is 4%, subject to various minimums. They may have similar practices in other markets.
I'm not sure that the bid values in Gixen fully reflect that.
For example, item 356744541248 is showing as ?GBP 11 in Gixen - ie
before
the ?GBP 1.16 fee is added.
But item 256885239792 is showing as ?GBP 12.35, i.e. after the fee.
I suspect Gixen shows it as before the fee when there are no bids, and after the fee when a bid is placed.
It would be helpful if Gixen always included the fee. That would enable accurate comparison between professional and private sellers.
