It can only increase the price that you eventually pay, so unless the aim was to increase the auction price, I can't see any reason to do this. It's especially strange if conducted via a different Ebay id, as may have happened here, but from what's been said I guess that would have been unintentional. That said the only way that manual bidding affects sniping is that Ebay will reject any later bid of the same (or lesser) amount from the same Ebay account. So, manually bidding at or above your snipe amount would block the later snipe bid from being accepted by Ebay.
Hmm... Were you making any edits to your snipes close to the time the auction was ending ?... and do you ever use the browsers refresh button in the snipes page, instead of pushing the Gixen 'Refresh' button that is on that page ?
In any case, this is nothing like the scenario of the item we were talking about at the start of this thread, in that case Gixen gave it a status of 'Won'.

Did this ever get figured out? I just had auction #326341798665 end yesterday with $190 as the ending price even though I had a max bid in for $197.
Is there something that I did wrong?
What status did Gixen give this snipe, after the auction had completed?
Status for the main shows “ended” but the status for the mirror shows “scheduled”.

The ebay username that won this listing begins with letters \"ba\" and ends with \"llc\". Is this your ebay username? That's the one that won this auctions and that's linked to your Gixen account.

It was won with a snipe from an Ebay account with a 613 positive feedback rating, what feedback rating does your Ebay account have ?
What was the amount of the manual bid that you placed ?
On the Gixen Settings page, in the second section, after 'Your eBay authorization for eBay account ', do you see the expected Ebay account id with the second to fourth characters replaced by '*' ?

You won this one for sure. Is it possible that you have multiple ebay accounts, and that a wrong one was linked to Gixen?
Hi, thanks for the reply. I do have 2 eBay accounts, but am only active on 1. I checked the other account for good measure and can confirm I did not win this auction.

I'd like to understand what happened. eBay Item# 335626151979
I did manually bid minutes prior to the end of the auction. Would this impact sniping?
Thanks,
Live4GodsArmy
Also, Gixen shows I won, but I fortunately I did not. [/img]
