It's not a requirement for all accounts, yet. I haven't found it to be a restriction to my sniping yet either. Indeed, I had set up a payment method on one of my accounts but subsequently removed it after discovering they used it for everything, immediately, which meant I couldn't access the postage discounts that were being offered by some sellers, for multiple purchases that could all be sent together.
I haven't had any Gixen snipes rejected for this reason, yet.
Please do let us know if anyone else does though.
Once you set it up for one auction it applies to all, so it's up to you if you want to go down that route. Personally I don't want to for the reasons I've previously stated.
It's also at the sellers discretion to opt out of this scheme, so you can try talking to them about it too.

Post subject: How will new ebay payment authorization affect snipes
Well my account is one of those that requires pre-authorization when placing a bid. How will that affect my snipe? Will they be rejected basically?

Ebay restrictions would not be something that Gixen can circumvent, have you tried talking to Ebay support about it yet ?
It is probably worth highlighting that these are bids being placed via an authorization that they have granted to a third party, that being Gixen.

Post subject: eBay immediate payment rules
Had an auto bid held up due to new eBay immediate payment restrictions. Does Gixen have a fix for this yet?

Post subject: Ebay auction
As of 10/6/24 Ebay auctions is requiring authorization for prepayment when placing a bid before auction closes. How are snipes going to work then?
