There is never a text warning for this on the web page, however if you have email notifications switched on and you receive an email before the auction is due to end that means your bid is not going to be accepted by Ebay. All of this does take into account the bid increments. Highlighting in red is while you are editing your bid using the web interface, my bad, sorry.[/quote]

Gixen prompts when bid is 'too low' should that not account for increments?
Was the snipe not highlighted in red once you had updated it ?
I just placed a marginal bid to try, it comes up as scheduled and the whole box is highlighted yellow.
22 h, 36 m, 52 s 486.00 480.00 GBP (25 bids) SCHEDULED

I'm new so may not have noticed any significance to colour.
The bid increments changed at this bid, rising by 10s. No alert to prompt that this was a range limit.
My email from Gixen was like a lottery notice that your numbers came up but then behind the scenes you had no valid ticket.
I would not have been deluded into a win if the email was consistent with the Snipes history. I came to the forum for answers that could have been in the notification.
email from Gixen at 1:50am
Item: 225922496284
Status (main): BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
Your maximum bid: 622.22
Current price: 609.91
My first such notification.
Checked ebay, then looking around for answers, came to Gixen looking for support query, ended up posting my question at 9:51pm (PT?)
Found the explanation in the mySnipes table and eBay bidding increment ranges then posted my follow up clarification here 11min later.
ENDED 622.22 609.91 GBP (34 bids) BID UNDER ASKING PRICE: EBAY BID INCREMENT RULE NOT MET
Why did I lose this auction?
Mario support confirmed 2 days later what I realised in 10 mins.
My suggestions stand
Could the email notification not state the full status message from MySnipes?
BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
PLUS : EBAY BID INCREMENT RULE NOT MET
Why did I lose this auction?
AND could the bid too low warning when modifying a snipe not factor in the required increment at that level?
My own concern is not that great as I am learning the seller is running repeat auctions regularly, it is off season and some are closing low so I will continue playing in no rush.

Post subject: Bid increments
Just found answer so this becomes a suggestion
Status (main): BID UNDER ASKING PRICE: EBAY BID INCREMENT RULE NOT MET
Why did I lose this auction?
The current price crossed an increment threshold at 600.
Gixen prompts when bid is 'too low' should that not account for increments?

Post subject: Just lost bid when item closed for less
eBay 225922496284
My first gixen 'win' but lost
Item: 225922496284
Status (main): BID UNDER ASKING PRICE
Your maximum bid: 622.22
Current price: 609.91
I did increase my Max bid some 4 hours before close.
I did modify and obviously it's recorded
Current price 6 secs before was close price. There were no bids in last 4 hours.
