I noticed it right from the early days of the site, nearly 20 years ago, but it's never caused me an issue.
I think the issue may actually relate to what the database can handle, and if that's the case it's not so much a display issue (although that is, of course, how it manifests on the site) but a server technical issue which would be quite hard and perhaps quite expensive to overcome.

Post subject: Support for UTF8 charachter encodiing
Using mostly Gixen for items on eBay Germany, i noticed the special charachters like ü ö ä à à à à are not properly displayed on gixen website, although the source code of the page specifies the right meta charset="utf-8" tag.
That means the problem lies in the API that gets the snipes from ebay that either does not let those special characters.
Does anyone experience similar problems with let´s say cyrillic or scandinavian region encodings ?
