It does take into account starting bids, so since there were no bids when you set the snipe anything above the starting price would have been acceptable to Ebay at that time and therefore not be highlighted by Gixen.
As soon as a bid is placed, even though the price is still the same, Ebay then imposes the bid increment rule and it's only then that Gixen can potentially highlight it.
It can take some time before Gixen picks up on changes like this, price and bid updates are not real time and occur only periodically.

Hi Cupid,
Thank you for that, it did not highlight for my bid. I set gixen to bid at 202.50 (unaware of the brackets), somebody bid the minimum 200 after my setting of gixen and my bid was rejected. Perhaps gixen does not take into account a snipe bid's "correctness" in regards to the bid brackets when there is not a bid yet an item?

Post subject: screening bid increment input
Problem: A gixen user can enter any amount for an auction bid. As bids get higher on an item bid increments also increase. See list below. This means you can set gixen to place a bid that is not valid and lose the auction.
Request: Gixen should filter the bid input and check if it conforms to the ebay increment. Error handling should report to the GUI that the bid does not conform to the increment required by ebay based on the then current bid price of the item. The user must then enter a valid amount into the GUI.

Bid increments
When someone else places a bid, which is lower than the maximum bid, we'll place a slightly higher bid on your behalf. The amount the bid increases by is known as a bid increment. Bid increments are smaller when the bid price is low, and larger in higher price brackets.
