The session id is communicated via a secure link, so only your computer has access to it.
The explanation needs updating anyway now, because regular http isn't used at all any more, even for non Mirror accounts.

Based on the FAQ, the log in process is through secured connection with your server and the specific session id is created. "Your session is then forwarded back to regular http with this session id". Does it mean this session id can be seen by anybody? If so, anybody can modify my bidding he/she knows my session id. This sounds really scary.
