As you do when placing bids on Ebay directly on their site, Gixen always bids in the currency of the auction, whatever that may be, and so that is the currency in which you need to specify the maximum that you are wiling to pay.
If you need to work that out in (or from) a different currency I recommend using one of the many currency conversion tools available online, but also bear in mind that the method you use to pay for the auction, if you win, whether that be Paypal or a bank, will generally charge you at least 3% of the total extra just to do the actual conversion (when required) for you.
