I agree it is an odd thing to do, and I have no idea why the seller decided to do that, it precludes them from getting any more for it via late bids, you would have to ask them what advantage they thought they could gain by doing it.
I'd be interested if anyone ever gets a response to that question. |

Thanks Mark, thats what I also suspected after reading some of the post here. Such a strange thing to end an auction like that, especially if it still sold to the highest bidder at the time. |

zhenjie,
If you look near he top of this listing, once again you'll see:
'This listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold.'
This means the seller decided to end it early.
Looking at the start and finish times indicates they chose to do that just over 40 minutes before the auction was due to end. |

Thanks for your answers... 10 seconds before ending, interesting! Good to know it had nothing to do with the tool.
Thanks again for your help on this! |

Another way to check this is to compare the start time with the end time, from Ebay.co.uk this looks like:
30 Jul 2018 at 4:51:30PM BST --> 6 Aug 2018 at 4:51:20PM BST Duration: 7 days
Which indicates that the seller decided to end the auction 10 seconds early... only they know why they did that. |

If you look carefully at the listing you will see "This listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold."
This means that seller ended the listing early. |

Yes sorry, forgot to include the number. Itâs 153119764890 - I had 4 seconds on the main server and 3 on the mirror one. And yes it says auction ended on both. I think the auction finished rather than the seller ending it, as I happened to be online for the last 2 minutes of it, then it said âyou missed outâ etc. and the item is displayed as sold on eBay?
So far it has been working good to me this way, anything I should change?
Thanks! |

neicho101,
Please can you give us the auction id so that this can be looked into ?
Please also confirm that it says 'Auction Ended' on both the Main and the Mirror tabs ?
Another possibility is that the seller deliberately ended the auction early.
What offsets are you using on both Main and Mirror ? |

|
Hi all,
I was trying to find out a reason for this and came across this post. Not a huge issue but it just also failed on me. I was online waiting for the bid to happen but it didnât. No main or mirror server worked for me this time. I checked on gixen website and as other it only says âauction endedâ.
Iâm happy about how gixen has always performed but just looking for a way to avoid this in the future?
Thanks! |

It does appear that Mario was able to positively address the issue quite quickly so the problem was short lived and mainly affected the Main server, so Mirrored snipes were less impacted.
However, Gixen continues to have more and more active users and hence many more snipes, so now even a relatively short-lived issue can affect quite a few snipes.
As I write this (on a Monday morning, one of the quietest times for snipes) the Gixen Home page states:
Users with pending snipes: 6,476
Pending snipes: 34,060
That is not an excuse, for those that are affected it's undoubtedly significant, it's just a slightly wider perspective. |

There was indeed an issue - many snipes have failed on the main server.
Mirror server was also affected, but to a lesser extent, I can see only around 20 failed snipes on mirror. I suspect this was caused by slow response from eBay servers, but this is just an assumption at this point, as I am still investigating the issue. |

Anybody else having trouble this evening? An auction went unsold and my snipe was never placed. No explanation at all- just says "Auction ended. This auction has ended." in place where it usually says "won" or "bid under asking price".. |
