Yes, that is what sniping is, and thus what Gixen does.

Yes and No....The bid that is placed is the one that you specify... However, that does not mean that is the amount you necessarily have to pay... This is because the way that Ebay bidding always works is that you never have to pay more than one bid increment more than the next highest bidder. You should always be prepared to pay up to the amount of your snipe though, because it is not until after your bid is placed (no matter when that is) that you get to find out how much the second highest bidder is/was prepared to bid.

I am new to this and am not sure if I have correctly registered for this bid, I was wondering how long it takes for my first bid to show on the current bids list, or does the bid only occur in the final moments. Does the final bid only exceed the highest bid to win or is the full amount suggested used as the final bid? In other words do I pay my nominated amount regardless.
