atgcoins.weebly.
That would have been quite a few years ago now.
The problem that Mario had with passing on all login attempts to Ebay was that when you just log in you don't wish to place any bids...
The vast majority of logins here are with the same existing credentials as previously used, people just don't change them very often and particularly not if they have snipes scheduled... unless they are forced to, as many were recently when Gixen was attacked via Chinese computers.
Too many logins (or just too high a proportion) without actually placing any bids and Ebay takes action against the IP that is sending the requests... which in turn causes all snipes by all users from that IP address to fail...
Mario really had little choice but to implement the feature as it is now constituted, and as I described above, if he wanted to continue to provide a sniping service for all the Gixen users.

Post subject: Password change
As I recall, Gixen used to fail to allow your login if your eBay password had changed. In the reply above you state that Gixen will gladly accept old eBay login credentials. This is an issue. While Gixen may gladly accept these credentials, eBay will not. So one logins into Gixen using the old credentials (not remembering their eBay password changed), sets their snipes, and believes everything is fine. Meanwhile, when Gixen attempts to send the snipe, it fails because the eBay login credentials are wrong. (This just happened to me last night.) Seems to me, the initial Gixen login should fail, or at least provide a warning, so one does not mistakenly think their snipe will fire when in reality it has no chance. Am I recalling incorrectly; did Gixen not used to disallow a login with an old eBay password??

There isn't anything to do this in 'Settings' because that isn't how Gixen works, this is a deliberate design choice for Gixen, so that your credentials are never held longer than necessary in order to submit bids on your scheduled snipes.
Gixen uses the credentials that you use to log in here. They are verified with Ebay every time you log in with different ones from previously. Gixen only keeps a one way hash of the last successfully entered password just for comparison purposes, unless you schedule snipes it does not retain anything that would allow it, or anyone else, to have access to your Ebay account even if all Gixen information were ever to be available externally.
You lose access to all your scheduled snipes when you log in with new credentials, that is because then none of the snipes that you had previously set up match those credentials.
Gixen will accept your OLD credentials before you submit new ones... this allows you to see your old snipes that have those old credentials associated with them but NONE of them will work... I advise you to make a note of them and then delete them. If you have a Mirror subscription you also have the option to download a file that contains a list of all your scheduled snipes, this is near the bottom of the Settings page.
If you change your credentials on Ebay you MUST then use the new credentials here before any of your snipes are going to work.
Once you log in with your new credentials you must then reschedule all your snipes before your new credentials will be associated with them, allowing them to be successful when Gixen logs in for you at the end of the auction. If at that point you have a file that contains a list of all your previously scheduled snipes you could then upload that, also from the Settings page.
Just logging in with your old credentials and editing the snipes is NOT going to work... in fact it is most likely to make things worse for you since you are then forcing Gixen to try to log into your Ebay account with the wrong credentials.
