I couldn't find a place to contact eBay directly about the scam, but I contacted the seller to let them know, and they replied with a personal email thanking me and indicating that they get so many shield bids these days that they have to inspect every auction for them. Anyway, another day, another dollar...
If that is what you suspect (as do I) I recommend that you report the incident to Ebay.

Thanks. You're right. I missed that. Sorry to have bothered you.
Looks like that $200 bid was a bogus shielding bid used to protect the low bid that won (seeing as it was retracted the second before the auction ended). I wonder if the seller knows he just got fleeced?

There was a retracted bid of $200 on this listing. This prevented bid from being placed.

Post subject: Have mirror service and both bids failed to execute?
Hi:
This regards auction # 311605119641
I had placed a Gixen snipe WITH mirror service, 3 seconds each. Neither bid got executed.
Can you explain what happened?
Thanks.
