Loaded a test and a 'really wanted' buy into the desktop manager (running windows 7) and the test buy worked, and the 'really wanted' buy was missed and I got a EBAY ERROR: LOGIN TIMEOUT (2) <br />I also got the socket error mssg on the desktop manager today. <br /> <br />Why would I get a login error when I have the mirror service? I thought that was supposed to prevent this problem? <br /> <br />Searching this forum, I can see that <br />socket error # 10060 connection timed out is widely reported and that it looks like the desktop manager is known not to work unless machines are in backward compatability mode.
