I think that is quite likely... I had those recently too on one of my accounts.. it could be a new initiative that Ebay has launched recently...
Once that page is dealt with as Ebay request it appears to go away permanently.

Ah!
I just signed in again and got a page asking me to enter some security questions/answers (which I haven't done yet).
I wonder if that might have been what failed the snipe.

If snipes are now operating successfully on your account it probably is not worthwhile setting up the Gixen proxy at this stage... but keep an eye out for any similar failures.
Odd thing: I haven't got

But, yes, I had answered the question about something I was selling by that time.

Odd thing: I haven't got round to doing the proxy thing yet, and there was another snipe scheduled the next day.
That went through as normal!

A question about something you are selling?
As far as I am aware that shouldn't affect the flow when logging in to place a bid... but if it does, please can you provide more details of how the flow is affected and I'm sure Mario will take a look when he gets some free time.
Anything that affects the normal bid flow can cause snipes to fail... most often that is a captcha image thrown up... but other operations have, in the past, been known to cause the same issue.

Ok - thanks for your reply.
No - I never use "import from watch list".
I also had an "unanswered question" when I looked in - in case that would interrupt the flow.

Thanks again - will get on and do the proxy thing!

Nothing to do with any iplayer usage.
Usually that is because Ebay are blocking your account from bidding via the Gixen servers.
Who knows how Ebays' systems get triggered?.. They certainly won't tell us.
It's usually an anti fraud measure but sniping services get caught in the cross fire.
Do you use the 'import from watch list' feature a lot?... that might trigger Ebay to take this sort of action against your account.
In any case, to move forward, you need to verify your account via the Gixen IP address by setting up the Gixen proxy, as directed... and then doing what Ebay asks to verify the account is being accessed by you.

Post subject: Snipe fail - why now?
Just had a snipe fail, got redirect to the gixen.com/whatsmyip.php page.
No big deal, but why now, suddenly?
I've recently started selling again after a long break, and also I notice I had get_iPlayer running too.
Could these be reasons? Or has eBay changed something?
