I just had the same problem. It happened 1 time (271858319618) on main server and 10 times (271858303230, 281680813566, 281680817120, 281680820213, 271858319618, 281680825341, 281680832841, 271858332281, 281680844529, 271858344272) on mirror server. My mirror subscription is good until Wed, Oct 14, 2015. Is there a way to investigate what happened? Thank you in advance.
Found it now. It looks like that snipes were failing for about 6-7 minutes around that time from the main server. Mirror server was fine during this time, so I assume datashack (primary ISP) had an issue around then.
I assure you that I would never do something like this deliberately - in fact both customers and I are much better off when everything works without a glitch, even the free service.

I took the pain to find your username based on your ip number and took a look at your snipes and snipe history, and for the life of me I don't see the snipe you are talking about. I see no failures on your account whatsoever.
Please let me know what the item id is - if there is a failure of some kind I want to find out what happened.
It's the one that ended sometime today for around $20. These failures happen and I've had a few that hurt but just not many as bad as this one recently

This is gixen looking to add subscribers to the pay service. It's funny how the only snipe I had a chance at failed today. Maybe it went so low because other snipes failed as well but I think we're just getting messed with myself
Can you please let me know what the item id is? I would like to see what happened.
Too late now and I don't want to dwell on it anymore than I have. Went for 20, my snipe was 60, could've resold it for 80-90. But like I said it probably went low because other Gixen snipes failed as well at that particular time

As I have stated elsewhere... a deliberate downgrade of the service to customers that use the free service would be a strange way to attempt to recruit more users to the paid one.
Can I remind you, it's $6 per year, no-one is ever going to be making a fortune from this site, however many sign up for that service.

lone_wolf,
It looks like ebay had an issue some 8 hours ago or so, as all servers were affected. They haven't posted anything on their announcement board, but there is no doubt that there was an issue.

Oh ok, thank you. No it was not mirrored.

Was the snipe mirrored, and if so did you get the same error on both servers?
If not it was probably a random failure... with a single server that happens in around 1 in 500 snipes.... which is why the mirror server exists.
