Post subject: verification required
I have had 2 days of this "verification required" error notices.. but so far have lost nothing due to failed bidding... 1 of the 2 servers i subscribe to must still be able to bid.. thank goodness! I haven't figured out how to fix this.. I can't get the instructions printed out so i can mull them over,,, deleted cookies and changing PWs is not a pleasant thing to do.. ugh.. i hope it goes back to normal bidding without probs!
happened with ebay 391085252126, among others,,, (3 more in just one day)... i lost one but my bid still went thru.. the other bidder just wanted it more...

This also happens to everyone on the same outgoing IP address occassionally for reason that's unknown to me - only eBay knows why. Today was one of such events. I noticed that and moved sniping to a different outgoing IP address, and now everything is back to normal.
No need to go through verification today.

Ebay sometimes take action on accounts they feel are at risk of being compromised... in order to confirm that it is the designated person that is still using the account.. it often appears to be targeted at those that have recently changed their credentials, or used the 'import watch list' function a lot of times in a short time.
It can also occur if Ebay have out of date credit card details on file with them and want you to update those details. Then you would find that every time you try to bid on an item Ebay stops you doing so until you provide the required details.
Ebay can detect that you are logging in from a location (the Gixen server) that they do not associate with your account and then add these verification steps to the process.
It may then become necessary for you to associate your account with the Gixen server... The failed snipe may provide you with a link to instructions as to how to do that.. otherwise you can request them via email, from Mario, at the support address given on the Contact tab above.
It is often the case that these measures are temporarily put in place by Ebay.. so you might find that after a day or so there is no problem anyway.. even if you take no further action other than scheduling more snipes.
